I feel what he is saying is that he wants a new perspective on life. Where he is seeing it as it is dull. He wants to see as a fun thing. He don't want to live a life that is so comprehensive. He wants it to be exciting and be a mystery.
The song is also used in the movie Jennifer's Body. They are saying that she is a demon cause she went to a concert and these devil worshipers kinda cursed her. They thought she wasn't a virgin when she was and that messed up the sacrifice they were doing to get more famous. Jennifer's friend wanted to see her as good so she was trying to change her perspective on life and see her friend as good when her friend was terrible.
