othello
Othello’s villainous ensign Iago plots against Othello and sends Roderigo to tell Senator Brabantio that Othello has seduced Brabantio’s daughter.
Final Thoughts About Othello
If you read the play Othello without knowing the author you would automatically know it's by Shakespeare. Shakespeare plays are almost all the same, they all include death, tragedy, love and jealousy. This play had it and because of that I am satisfied.
I really dont like this book at all. It is very boring because for some reason it was not interesting and i kept falling asleep. There was some things that were interesting in the book that were very intersting like when Iago said that Othello cassed a spell on Desdamona to make him love her. I thought that was very crazy.
I also think that Iago was most definitely the main character for many reasons.

Othello: By Miles Godfrey
Strengths : Rodrigo having letters on him explaining everything
Emilia standing up for woman, Cassio not dieing.
Weaknesses: Desdemona not fighting back as shes about to die, Othello not going to Desdemona and asking her is she cheating, Rodrigo getting played.
I did not like it because shake spear story's all end the same

Review The Play
Othello
By Shakespeare
This play is all about a job position and love. Desdemona, Othello, and Iago are basically the main characters because everything revolves around them. Othello and Desdemona are married. Iago was just a jealous hater. He wanted Desdemona and his job position back. There was another main character called Cassio. Iago wanted his position but then everything went the other way and then he wanted to take Othello's spot. He was doing whatever he needed to do to get what he wanted. He did not care if it hurt peoples relationships or the fact that he used a lot of people including Rodrigo. At the end of the play they were out for the kill. Rodrigo was trying to kill Cassio but missed and Then Iago killed Rodrigo later on Othello killed his wife. When all the happened everything started coming to the light. Starting with Emilia. She wanted to tell the truth and Iago threatened to kill her but she still told anyways and then she was gone. Othello stabbed him but he still lived. At the very end Othello choose to kill himself he thought was the right thing and stabbed himself. hen they found all the lies Iago told written down on paper and saw the real truth. At the end of the day all of his hard work went down hill and Cassio still getting the position.
The books strengths would be the action. It had a lot of things that happened but it mad the book good. Some weaknesses would be that some scenes were a little boring.
I loved the book. It keep me on my toes. I wanted to read it all the way through because i wanted to see what came next. At the mid-end of the play i made a prediction about what was all gonna go down. I ended up being right but it still kinda surprised me. Like when everybody started killing one another that was a tragedy.

Othello- Shakespeare
Othello the general of the military gave Cassio the positioning of Lieutenant and a dude named Iago was very jealous and wanted that position so he plotted to go against othello and Cassio . But his friend Was Inlove othellos wife named desdemona his name was Roderigo .iagos plan was to get Cassio to look like he was Inlove with desdemona so othello could fire him and trust Iago. So it happened and othello was very heartbroken so he set out to kill his wife and had Iago kill Cassio. othello killed her Iago framed Roderigo as stabbing Cassio. Emilia (iagos wife) figured out everything and told othello that his wife never loved Cassio and the handkerchief that was very special to othellos family was given to Cassio by Emilia not desdemona. Iago stabbed and killed his wife cause she said to much and he also killed Roderigo after they figured out that Cassio was still alive and Iago didn't want Roderigo to tell on him about stabbing Cassio. Othello felt very horrible about killing his wife he decided to kill hisself . After Roderigo was dead the found a note I his pocket explaining everything that happened how Iago planed to do everything . Iago didn't get in trouble really but Cassio became the general. The end. I really like the book because it explains how not communicating with people that really bad things can happen. You can't just assume that everything that someone says is true. If you hear something that someone said ask that person not someone else and miscommunication is really bad so try to work everything out. htt
Othello
Shakespeare
Othello is the black general of the city of Venice also known as the Moor married a beautiful white woman named Desdemona. Her father Barbanito thought he used witchcraft to fall in love with Othello. But he used his love and stories to win her over and earn her love. Iago his assistant has made a plan to get revenge on Othello for choosing the military scientist Cassio over him by making it look like he is having a affair with Desdemona. He had his wife snatch the handkerchief from Desdemona to escalate Othello's anger to make him want to kill Desdemona. When they returned to Venice Rodrigo attacked Cassio but was stabbed then Iago swooped in and slashed Cassios foot. Othello arrives in Desdemona's room calling her a whore she tried to tell him the truth but he didn't listen so he smothered her with a pillow. When Emilia came in she explained that the affair was a lie and confronted him about the then Iago stabbed her and ran off. Othello takes his own life out of guilt of killing his wife Desdemona and Iago was taken to prison to be torture and killed.
The book was really good but the strengths also had weakness. The Shakespearean language not this century and I barely understand most of it. The strengths were that talked about love and deception was all about.
The book of Othello was really good it was about a general falling in love and is deceived. I liked the beginning part how he married Desdemona with Cassio by his side. I like the part how he and Desdemona fell in love in first place. I liked the part how he got the handkerchief to her what it means to him. The saddest part was when he killed Desdemona and he killed himself. But the best part was seeing Iago going to be tortured and killed for his crimes.

What is Othello?
Othello by Shakespeare, Its about this dude named Othello and this guy named Iago is trying to mess up a lot of things in Othello's life. He makes him think that his wife is cheating on him.Which causes a lot of things to happen. Iago is just jealous of Othello because he has the job that Iago wants. Its really keeps you paying attention. There is always a cliff hanger. I think its is a really good book. The end will really get to you. Its kinda crazy but also a little sad. Well it is a Shakespeare book. So what do you expect?

Tittle: Othello
Author: Shakespeare
Othello has something to do with a bunch of people who basically all have serious issues. They all lie about dumb stuff like This guy named Iago lied to Othello and said that his wife gave another man something he had gave her so he killed her all because of a lie.
.
I think the book doesn't really have any weaknesses it was a very good well thought out story some of the things you would of never expected.
Othello by Shakespeare
Othello was betrayed by Iago and Iago wanted to steal Othellos power and Cassios. He ends up causing him to go to jail roderigo dying, othello killing himself brebantio dying and desdemona dying. Cassio became governor of Venice after.
I think the book showed a lot of emotion towards the relation between each character and Iagos plan that had a false turn and plot twist that made cassio get an even higher job position. They couldve improved on the role of the smaller roles in the book like brebantio because he just died outb of nowhere.
I kinda like it but its not type of genre because im not into the whole love story that ends with everyone dead stories but i would recommend it to other people.

in my opinion i did not like the play Othello because it was to hard to under stand. in Shakespeare time this was everyday language. in the play a man named Othello wins over a noble woman Desdemona meanwhile a man by the name of logo planes to take Casio's job. at the end Desdemona is killed by Othello and Othello commits suicide
Othello book review
"it's about to go down" |
I loved the book Othello by William Shakespeare. The book shows how love can turn into death. To me the book was more like a Romeo and Juliet but with a through off with an inter_racial couple and the man is the only one that is hated instead of the family's having a rivalry the man is unwelcome(hated) because the color of his skin and no one can change how they feel about the ones that they love. the end of the book had to be just a small bit of a throw off because it hand kind of ended where mostly everyone is dead but the guy who we all wanted to die from the start of book after we heard his plan.
Othello
I think that this book interesting because he tells you about how a person can keep things from everyone .
I think you should also show it to your class nest year.
When Desdamona killed her self.
othello
In class we finished the book Othello. in the book Othello its about Othello marrying Desdemona but there is a person that does not like it and that's Desdemona father Brabantio and he thins Othello used magic then there is also the cassio and iago thing where iago makes a plan to kill cassio for he can become a lutienit. I really liked this book because there is a lot of stuff where your like just go ask Desdemona and what happened at the end it wouldn't have happened.

Did Shakespeare Title His Play Correctly?
The play Othello is known as another classic tragedy written by Shakespeare, but did Shakespeare title it wrong? To many people's eyes, the main character of the play is Iago and not Othello. In many of Shakespeare's plays, the title to a play is the name of the main character, so why is this an exception?
First of all, let's see why Othello is seen as the main character. A main character, or protagonist, is the center of attention in a story. This primary personal figure comes into conflict with another major character or force known as the antagonist. If you look back at the play, the first person you meet is Iago and you learn his moral goal on Act 1, Scene 1, Line 60 when he says, "In following him, I follow but myself." What Iago's saying is that he will only serve Othello to get what he wants, which is a promotion. This proves he's the main character by definition because of this line. Othello is the major force stooping him from his goal so Iago should be seen as the main character, correct? However Othello is seen as the main character because Iago is the villain. In most stories villains are seen as the main force fighting against a hero, and heroes are seen as the main characters. Since Iago is picking on Othello specifically, Othello must be the hero of the story because Iago is picking on him. Iago gives off a villain vibe from the start when he says Line 67 in Act 1, Scene 1, "I am not what I am." It foreshadows his role in the play.
Since Iago is the villain why can't he be seen as the main force? By definition he cannot be the main force because he's not preventing anyone from a certain goal. Through out the play Iago is the only character with a goal to accomplish, everyone else is in his way. So why couldn't Shakespeare make the villain the main character? The main character in a story needs to be sympathetic to connect with the audience. If the villain was the main character, the audience could feel out of place. In other words would you really like to be compared to a villain? Most people would want to see themselves in heroes and noble characters, not in villainous characters that are secretly just like us. So to distract his audience, Shakespeare made Othello the main character, the audience should feel sympathy for him because he lost his love to jealousy in the end, which can be relatable. Iago's struggles are relatable as well but would the audience really enjoy knowing that his villainous acts can be relatable as well?
Iago should the the title of the play Othello but Shakespeare did have his reasons, although they go against the definitions.

the othello title
I think that Othello is the main character because Desdemona father thinks that Othello put a spell on her. Desdemona really loves Othello because of what he been through in life.Othello has more control then people and he is the only black guy.
Should the story be called Othello?
By Miles Godfrey
I think the story should be named something that has to do with Iago because he is more of the main character then any body. i think the story should be called Iago's terrible does or something like that because though out the story he dos thing that are bad , like using people to get what he wants, lying and make other kill for him or mislead them all to get a spot where he use to be.
IAGO
I think Iago is basically the main character. Iago because he is in more situations that i feel like Othello should be in. Now don't get me wrong , Othello is in a lot of situations too but not as interesting as Iago. I feel like Iago is the man of this whole so called "Othello" story which should be called Iago story.

Should the book Othello be called Iago?
I think Iago is the main character because they tell a lot about him and we don't know that much about Othello. It should of told us more about Othello life and a long story of how he grew up. Iago always get his solo parts and Othello don't get that.
IAGO
I think that if Iago was the main character, in the play "Othello" , it would make since. The reason I think that is because, Iago would be the main character so why not have the title as his name.
Othello vs Iago
I think it should still be called Othello. It has to do with his life. Also it has to do with his and Desdemona relationship and how he messed up. He accused her of things she didn't do. Yes it does have a lot to do with Iago. He was the one that made all the bad things happen. The play is about how Othello handles everything. The way he chose to handle it was not the good way. He could have talked to her about it. The play is a very good play. I feel like maybe it would be better if it was about Iago though. You don't see a lot of books or movies about the bad person. It's always about the good person and how they win in the end. They could have made it about Iago. So everyone could really see from his point of view. Maybe everyone would think differently about him. Besides the fact the he still killed his best friend. Shakespeare could have made two plays. One about Othello, the other about Iago.
i think the play othello should be called iago. i say this because most of the time you see iago. the play is really about othello and desdemona but you see iago doing some much that you forget it's othello play. its really about iago trying to get a better job.that's why it should be his play.
Title Of The Play Othello
I think Othello should really be called Iago. As far as i have read everything has revolved around him and his plans and goals. Iago is basically the main character but he just doesn't get credit for it. He wants things to go his way or he is gonna manipulate and cause a whole bunch of drama. Iago is in almost all of the scenes Othello doesn't appear in all of them.
othello
Yes I actually do think it would be better because he is the main charterer in the book. I honestly though think it should be called Othello and iago because those really are the two main characters and its about there life. like if you noticed Othello and iago have the most parts in the book so obviously you should know there the two main ones. I also think that it should be like that because it would make scene to be called iago and Othello. so as I was saying why would it not be a good idea for it to be called that it clearly makes more scene to me.
Othello
No I think that it should stay the same because iago is like the bad character or villain and Othello is the good character that goes bad. In the 7 dwarfs, the witch with the apple is evil and she's not the main character she just evolved around everything bad that happened just like Othello. Even though Iago seems to have more lines than the main character I think that Othello impacts the play with fewer words than what he says.
I think Iago would be a good name because he seems to be a more important character compared to Othello. He is in more scenes he really is the plot of the whole story. Iago is just a better person to base the story off of just because without him the story would be very dull he lies and turns everybody against each other and the end of the story wouldn't of went how it went if it wasn't for Iago.
Othello title
Othello is a better title than Iago I mean Othello is the hero of the story and Iago is the main Antagonist. Really who would name a movie after the villain. After the things Iago does in the movie it would be stupid to name the movie after him. He is a two faced snake who took advantage of his friend Rodrigo and in the near end killed him without remorse seeing his usefulness has come to a end. Othello is more a hero title and Iago a villain title.
Iago
I think it should be call Iago because he's the main focus and of everything he's behind every scheme. He makes others kill his wife. And kills Rodrigo so he wouldn't get in trouble if everything back fired. It shouldn't be othello because he really isn't as a big part as Iago. Othello part is huge it's actually the 2nd biggest part.
Othello & Iago story title
i think the story should be called Othello & Iago because Othello & Iago have a lot to say in this story, Othello and Iago have a lot of beef through out the story , Iago influences a lot of negativity on him he tells him that he shouldn't be with Desdemona , in the end Iago tells Othello to kill Desdemona , what Iago tells Othello is basically telling Othello to kill Desdemona , so to me its like Othello and Iago are like Friend Enemies like there not exactly friends but they associate with each other and they're also Enemies , Iago basically gives Othello bad advice which is a bad influence on Othello has negativity from Iago like telling Othello to strangle Desdemona in bed so Othello is like Okay ill listen to u and strangles Desdemona in bed and kills her.
so that's why i think the story line or cover should be called Othello and Iago cause of there relationship that they have which is friend Enemies , Othello is like the follower and its like whatever Iago tells Othello he listens to and whatever Iago tells Othello to do Othello does it.
so that's why i think the story line or cover should be called Othello and Iago cause of there relationship that they have which is friend Enemies , Othello is like the follower and its like whatever Iago tells Othello he listens to and whatever Iago tells Othello to do Othello does it.
I think that the play Othello should be changed to logo because Othello was not in the play vary much and logo is a better main character because he is conniving. Othello only has a few big Sean and logo is in almost every big Sean.
I think the name of the play should be changed to Iago because Iago is basically the main dude in the play. It's mostly about what Iago wants, and he wants the job that Othello gave Cassio, Iago convinces that Desdemona is cheating and that she loves Cassio so Othello can kill Desdemona and make promote Iago lieutenant. Othello and Iago are like friend enemies, they are socializing together and Othello has no clue why. I think in the end it should had ended up with Cassio Desdemona and Rodrigo all dead and Iago the new lieutenant.
So i think Iago should be the topic of the story because he is the one that everyone talks about in the story and he has almost the most problems. But he's not the only one that has problems. Desdamona and Othello also have a lot of problems such as Othello wanting to kill Desdamona.
would "IAGO" be a better title then "Othello"
I think Iago would have been a better title because he's the most talked about person and talks the most in the book out of everyone and he talks more than who the book is the book is named after Othello.but maybe Shakespeare named the book Othello for a reason maybe to show that some times the good guy doesn't win but just maybe the bad guy would get away with it.
Devon's Opinion.
I think that Iago would be the best title of this story. I do think he is the main character but i also think that Othello has a big part in the story. but i feel like all the things that been happening wouldn't been happen if Iago wouldn't had said none are did it. Also he mad things happen when he wonted to in how he wonted to. And he kept calm in had a lot of lies going around in set things up in made it look like he was the last one to blame.

Iago are Othello
In class we are reading a book called Othello. but it seems to have more about Iago in the book then Othello are any other person in the book. its always Iago is doing something from hem using Roderigo to get money. Iago made a plan to become lutenit in his plan he used Cassio ,Desdemona and Othello he had Othello kill Desdemona and almost killed cassio he killed Roderigo I thin that the book are play should be called Iago because he is the one its mostly about and he makes a mess of emotions and thoughts in the book.
